CHELSEA, MAINE
Edward K Adkins, age 77, died on December 30, 2022 at the VA Togus after a brief illness. He was born in Holden, WV on October 14, 1944, the son of the late Edward and Virginia Adkins.
Edward graduated from Logan High School in 1963, then enlisted in the US Air Force. He was stationed in Bangor, ME at the Dow Air Force. After the service, he met his wife, Barbara, and they married in 1965. From there, they made their home in Augusta, ME.
He went to work for Dion’s Plumbing & Heating. That’s where he learned the trade, and went on and received his Master Plumbers License. He worked for Augusta Fuel Co. before going out on his own. He worked on his own for many years until he retired in 2008.
Edward was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his daughter Candy Pendelton.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara Adkins of Chelsea; one son, Troy Adkins of Augusta; two granddaughters: Isabel & Olivia and one grandson, Camron Pendelton; one son in law, Warren Pendelton and several nieces and nephews.
At his request there will be no visiting hours. Burial will be at a later date in Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, ME.
