Patricia A. Wilkinson, 90, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the Hannah B. G. Shaw Home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Fairfield, ME on March 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Daniel A. and Hazel M. (Hunt) McCormick.
Pat was a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, where she earned her bachelor's degree, and taught at Norton (MA) Elementary School after graduation until beginning her family.
Pat married Lester Wilkinson, of RI in 1954 and made their home in Cumberland, RI. Pat & Les raised three children and were married for 51 years. Her devotion to family was evident to all. Upon Les' retirement, they moved to a farmhouse they had restored in the location they both loved, China, Maine. There, Pat loved spending time with her Maine family, gardening, doing crossword puzzles and hosting family gatherings. A kind- hearted, caring person, she loved making visitors feel welcome. In later years, she moved to Lakeville, MA spending time with her MA/RI families.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, Lester F. Wilkinson, Sr., and four sisters: Phyllis Farmer, Marguerite Poulin, Mary McCormick, and Betty McCormick.
She is survived by her son, Lester F. Wilkinson, Jr. and wife Robin of Augusta; two daughters: Mary Jean Liberatore and husband Ralph of Lakeville, MA and Alisa Tomasetti and husband David of Cumberland, RI; nine grandchildren: Matt, Sean, Scott, and Jared Wilkinson; Lindsey and Peter Liberatore; Sarah Attwood, Kristy Skender and Kelly Gomes, and 5 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was especially close to her niece Paula Fike, and nephews Don and the late Dan Poulin. Pat leaves a legacy of love.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home for their loving and attentive care over the past four years.
Friends and family are welcomed to visitation hours Monday, May 2nd from 9 am - 11 am with a subsequent Chapel Service taking place at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Augusta.
