Ingeborg Maria Lilliman, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on February 9, 2021. Inge, as she was known to most, was born September 25, 1927 in Vienna, Austria. She was the only child of Emil Alexa and Augustine Alexa.
She was accepted into the University of Vienna, where she would later earn a degree in Accounting. Soon thereafter she would meet her husband, US soldier Harry Lilliman. Harry had noticed Inge standing on a crosswalk while in his military jeep asked her if she would like a lift. They were married eight months later in St. Augustine Church in Vienna.
As a military couple, they were frequently stationed throughout Germany and Austria and the United States. After 10 years of service Harry and Inge started their family in Illinois where John was born, a few years later Michael and Jeanne were born overseas in Frankfurt, Germany. After 20 years of Service, they settled in Augusta, ME where Harry retired at Camp Keyes.
She was blessed with two grandsons, Michael and Nicholas, that she adored dearly and always being a presence in their lives. Harry & Inge were avid travelers throughout their lives, embarking on trips to various European countries. Canada and the US. She was an avid skier where she would soon maker her second home at Sugarloaf Mountain. Inge had a passion for clocks, which she collected many throughout the years.
Those who knew her best would always say she gave the best advice. She was a devoted Mother, loving and caring for everyone around her. Through the years she would have many pets, mostly dachshunds Max and Willie to name a few who she loved dearly.
We would like to thank Beacon Hospice for her care during this difficult time. Inge was a special person. She will be deeply missed and in our hearts forever. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, we will forever miss her.
She was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband Harry.
She is survived by her sons John and Michael both of Augusta, her daughter Jeanne Poulin and son in law Norman of Augusta. Grandsons Michael and his fiancée Whitney and Nicholas Poulin, Sister-in-law Lila Greer of Chicago, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kennebec Humane Society 10 Pet Haven Lane Augusta, ME.

Jeanne I will always remember your mother as a stong, kind and capable woman who loved her family. I have happy childhood memories of playing with “little kiddles” in the large wooden masted model ship in your living room, sneaking peeks at celebrity magazines, swimming in your pool and trading twinkies for velveeta cheese. Your mom was always such a presence and I know her strong values will live on in you and your children. ❤️
