Pauline C. Loubier, age 80, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta from complications of COVID-19. She was born in Lewiston, ME, on October 11, 1940, daughter of the late Antonio and Irene (Fournier) Nadeau.
Mrs. Loubier was a graduate of St. Dominic’s Regional High School in Auburn, and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
She had been employed by Dr. Robert Patenaude, DDS, for over 45 years, working as his Office Assistant and performing many tasks, even helping him with patients.
She loved handing out candy on Halloween Night to all the trick-or-treaters, and still got recognized as the “Dentist Lady”.
Pauline loved the holidays, hosting, cooking, and decorating for any and all occasions. She made sure no one ever went hungry, even from just a short visit. She always put others first, strived to make everyone around her happy, and rarely was seen without a smile on her face.
Mrs. Loubier was a former member of the Cushnoc Senior Citizens, and the former Lady of St. Anne Society.
She is predeceased by her brother, Raymond Nadeau, and her sister, Georgette Doustou.
Mrs. Loubier is survived by her husband of 60 years, Claude J. Loubier; her children: Claudette D. Coyne and significant other Stephen A. Fuller of Hallowell, and Paul E. and his wife Vicki L. Loubier of China; three grandchildren: Allison M. Sanborn, Erika L. Loubier, and Zachary D. Loubier; two great grandchildren: Lucian X. and Oliver O. Sanborn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pauline and her family would like to send a special thanks to all of the nurses, doctors, and other hospital staff at Maine General for their professionalism and genuine caring in keeping her as comfortable as possible.
Adhering to strict CDC guidelines of 50 or fewer people, social distancing, and mask wearing, relatives and friends may visit on Wednesday, February 17th from 6-8pm at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St. Augusta, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 18th at 11am at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta, ME. Burial will be held in the spring in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Augusta, ME.
Those who desire may make donations in Pauline’s memory to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
