Obituary

EAST PITTSTON, MAINE
Roger A. Fortin, II - 47, of East Pittston died unexpectedly in his sleep on February 6, 2019. Roger was born in Augusta on July 30, 1971 to Roger A. Fortin, Sr. and Rosemary N. (Quimby) Fortin.
Roger was a 1989 graduate of Cony High School. He was a proud shipbuilder and worked as a rigger at Bath Iron Works where he was employed for 28 years.
Roger had a joy for life and he wrote his own rules. He enjoyed a ride on his Harley, liked spending time at the coast, and was a passionate fan of the New England Patriots…“and in Belichick he trusted.”
He was a loyal and true friend whose garage was always open to come and sit, crack open a beer, and talk about family, politics or life. He could tell a story like no other and could bring out the humor in any situation. He was quick with his wit and truly had some of the best one liners ever said.
Roger loved his family and rarely ever missed a family event or gathering. If anyone needed a helping hand, he was always there lending his in any way that was needed.
Roger was predeceased by his parents, his brother Edward Fortin, his paternal grandparents Clement and Elizabeth Fortin, and his maternal grandparents Richard and Greta Quimby.
Roger is survived by his sister, Greta Cummings and her husband Todd of Whitefield, his nephew, Patrick Doe and his significant other Rikki Bryant of Windsor, and his nieces Stephanie Doe and her significant other Peter Schultz of Windsor, Elizabeth Fortin, Britney Hardesty, and Kayla Moravec. Roger leaves behind his side-kick and beloved pug Axel, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. We all loved him dearly and will forever miss him.
Visiting hours will take place on Saturday, February 16th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a celebration of his life immediately following at 1:00 pm at Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Road, (Route 32) Windsor, ME.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. May the words of Christ Jesus be of comfort to you which he states that "All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."  We are also comforted by God's promise to wipe away the tears of sorrow from our eyes forever and to swallow up death forever. John 5:28,29 Isaiah 25:8
