Obituary for Carol Anne M. Willette

Following a short illness, Carol A. Norcross Willette, age 73, died at Maine Medical Center on Friday, November 2, 2018. Born in Augusta, ME on June. 3, 1945, Carol was the daughter of A. Kenneth and Mary C. (Kus) Norcross and the younger sister of Randall F. Norcross, who chose her first name.
She was a graduate of Winthrop High School, the University of Maine, and the University of Southern Maine Graduate School of Education. She spent most of her career as a school counselor in area high schools and retired from a position at Winthrop Middle School.
Following her retirement, Carol relished weeklong trips to the Maine coast and New Hampshire mountains with her husband, Roger H. Willette, whom she married on June 3, 2014. She also enjoyed reading novels, gardening, attending the Maine State Music Theatre, and having lunch with her many friends.
Carol was predeceased by her parents and brother.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters and their husbands: Michelle A. Small and Jeffrey M. Sullivan of Brunswick and Melinda J. (Small) and John P. Caterine of Freeport; three step-daughters and their husbands: Laurie A. (Willette) and Raymond MacFarland of Skowhegan, Traci L. (Willette) and Cody Dean of Mt. Vernon and Kellie M (Willette) and Joe Berube of Augusta; five grandsons and a granddaughter: Winston M. and Lincoln N. Sullivan and Avery J. and Lexie M. Caterine, Jordan T. Roes, Matthew R. Johnson and JJ Berube; many cousins; and her special cats, Patches and Pebbles.
A committal service will be held on Friday, November 16th at 2:00 PM in the chapel at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carol A. Norcross Willette Memorial Scholarship Fund C/O Laurie MacFarland, 9 Patrick Street, Skowhegan, ME, 04976. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Winthrop High School, where Carol worked as a school counselor for many years.
