Eugene G.  Beaulieu Sr.
AUGUSTA, MAINE
Eugene G. Beaulieu, Sr., age 84, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center at Glenridge following a brief illness. He was born in Augusta, ME on April 18, 1934 a son of the late Willie A. and Delina (Levesque) Beaulieu.
Mr. Beaulieu attended Augusta schools and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
He was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Beaulieu had been employed for 30 years with the State of Maine.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 56 years, Madeline; a son, Eugene G. “Pug” Beaulieu, Jr.; five brothers: Arthur, Ludger, Ronald, Clement, Raymond and Paul Beaulieu and four sisters: Jacqueline Carney, Cecile McCutcheon, Gilberte Parker and Gabrielle Gower.
Mr. Beaulieu is survived by a son, Steven R. Beaulieu and his wife Ann of Sidney; two daughters: Kathy A. Tozier and her husband Peter of Augusta and Julie L. Cook and her wife Christine Abate of Hallowell; a daughter-in-law, Susan Beaulieu of Readfield; his girlfriend, Florence Vogt of Augusta; a brother, Richard Beaulieu of Chelsea; four grandchildren: Laura, Steven, Rebecca and Matthew; three great-grandchildren: Ryleigh, Logan and Aaron; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Maine Veterans Home and MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center, especially the Comfort Care Unit for the care and compassion they showed to Dad and the family during his time with them.
Relatives and friends may visit on Friday, July 6th from 9-10:30 AM at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Western Ave., Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will be held on Thursday, July 26th at 10 AM at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
