Obituary for
Alfredine D. Quirion (Dostie)
AUGUSTA, MAINE
Alfredine D. Quirion - age 94, of Gage Street, died Sept. 7, 2013 at Maine Veterans Home after an extended illness. She was born in St. Methode de Frontenac, P.Q., Canada on May 5, 1919 the daughter of Augustin Dostie and Alphonsine (Lessard) Dostie.
Mrs. Quirion was a homemaker in her own home for most of her life, but had been employed by Bath Iron Works during World War II, and the Corner Store Restaurant and the 220 Club, both on State Street. She also volunteered at St. Mary's School and assisted her husband in their construction business, Quirion Construction.
She was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, a member of Cushnoc Senior Citizens, the Ladies of St. Anne Society where she was chosen Mother of the Year in 2000 and volunteered at their Whist Parties, and a life member of Canado-Americaine Society.
Her husband, Frank H. Quirion, died on March 6, 1987. She was also predeceased by seven brothers: Alfred, Leo, Fernand, Jean Baptist, Eugene, Augustine Desire and Joseph Gerard Dostie; and five sisters: Medora Hamel, Alice Poulin, Lucia Bolduc, Marie Ange Thibeau and Jeanne d’Arc Julien.
Surviving is a daughter, Dorothy Bolduc and husband Victor of Gardiner; two sons, Frank E. Quirion and wife Sueanne and William Peter Quirion and his wife Paula, both of Augusta; one sister, Rose Eva Gilbert of Augusta; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may visit from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday, Sept. 12th at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where members of the Ladies of St. Anne Society are asked to meet at 3 PM for a prayer service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, Sept 13th at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Western Avenue, Augusta, ME. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manchester, ME. Memorial donations may be made to Ladies of St. Anne Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
