Jesse Miller Jr.
Jesse R. Miller, Jr., age 91, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Maine Veterans Home following a long illness. He was born in Chelsea, ME on October 2, 1926 a son of the late Jesse R. Miller, Sr. and Ella (Marquis) Miller.
Mr. Miller attended Augusta schools and was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II.
He had been employed by Bates Mfg., Edwards Division for over 25 years. Following his employment at the mill, he was owner of Washington General Store in Washington, ME.
Mr. Miller was pre-deceased by a brother, Raymond Miller and three sisters: Marguerite Gay, Pauline Wing and Gloria Rogers.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Euphemia (Denny) Miller of Augusta; a step-son, Daniel Murphy and his wife Sandra of Randolph; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, John E. Miller and his wife Norma of Windsor; six sisters: Charlotte Noyes of Augusta, Dorothy Delhoney of Bath, Judith Newman and Joan Bonenfant of Augusta, Nancy Camelio and her husband Peter of North Anson and Elizabeth Cornish of Florida as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Deborah Coulombe of Augusta.
There will be no public visiting hours. Burial will be on Monday, May 14th at 9 AM in Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19th at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Cross Hill Rd., Augusta.
