Carol Smith (Reiter)
Carol Anne Smith (Kipp) - age 76, of Western Avenue, Augusta, and Fort Mill, SC, died April 18, 2018 at a Charlotte, NC hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Verona, PA, just outside Pittsburgh, on November 1, 1941 the daughter of Charles A. Reiter and Dorothy (Quinlan) Reiter.
Carol was a high school graduate of St. Josephs in Verona. She also studied biblical theology at Stevens Christian College in Lenox, Mass, in 1978 where she and her former husband, Alan Kipp, graduated and received their degrees and were ordained to co-pastor a church in Dresden, Maine. During the time of 1980 to 2006, they planted three churches together. Her first husband passed in 2008 and 2 years later she married Bradford Smith and went on to plant a fourth church in Augusta, Maine.
Through life she enjoyed part-time teaching and did some waitressing but her heart was with people. She had a heart for the nations. In 1976, she traveled to Guatemala after an earthquake to help rebuild, taking her whole family. She loved her family, naturally and spiritually having a heart for their destiny. She also enjoyed other missionary trips to places like China, where she made seven visits with others who shared her heart for the nations. She truly laid down her life for people. Some personal enjoyments were that she loved to dress up, clothes, hats, shoes, were of great variety and colors. Some simple enjoyments were gathering wreaths and baskets but people remained in her heart.
