Pauline M. Gingras - age 71, of the Prescott Road, died December 16, 2017 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Gray Birch Drive after an extended illness. She was born in Augusta, Maine on October 23, 1946 the daughter of Dr. Napoleon J. Gingras and Marie Jeanne (Gervais) Gingras.
Pauline was educated at College Basil Moreau in Montreal, P.Q., Canada, graduated in 1967 from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, ME and later earned her Masters Degree in Public Administration from American University in Washington, DC.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a senior program analyst by the U.S. Department of Transportation and U.S. Department of Education for many years.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents, and by a brother, Robert J. Gingras.
Surviving is her husband, Vasile Machanet of Manchester, ME; a son, Jeff Dudley of Newport, VT; a step-daughter, Florentina (Machanet) Micul of Italy; a brother, Louis J. Gingras of Winthrop, ME; five sisters: Lucie McCarthy and her husband Charlie of Manchester, ME, Jeanne Marie (Gingras) Audet of Magog, P.Q., Canada; Jacqueline Lacasse of Augusta, ME, Helene Neves and her husband Anthony of Albion, ME and Marguerite Allen of Augusta, ME; two grandchildren: Allison Dudley and James Dudley, of Vermont; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no visiting hours planned. A committal service will be held at Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta, ME in the Spring of 2018. Donations in her memory can be made to: The Children's Center, 1 Alden Avenue, Augusta, ME 04330.
