Jeannette M. McCarty (Lavallee)
Jeannette M. McCarty - age 77, of Windsor, died Dec. 7, 2017 at Alfond Center for Health in Augusta after a long illness.
She was born in Augusta, ME on Nov. 24, 1940 the daughter of George E. Lavallee and Rose A. (Quirion) Lavallee.
Jeannette was a graduate of Cony High School of Augusta.
Throughout her life she loved feeding and watching birds, playing Bingo and keeping in touch with family and friends through Facebook. And whenever someone walked into the room her favorite saying was “Ho,Ho,Ho” no matter what time of the year. A huge part of her life was being a Memere to her 4 Great Grandbabies. She loved them dearly and treasured her time with them.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta for 22 years.
Jeannette was a member of St. Michael Parish.
She was predeceased by her parents; six brothers: Lionel, Armand, Romeo, Gerard, Robert and Arthur Lavallee, and two sisters, Juliette Dostie and Rose Dumont.
Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Alden Albert McCarty of Windsor, ME; one daughter, Loriann Leclerc and her husband Bruno of Windsor, ME; two sons: Gary McCarty and his wife Lisa of Windsor, ME and Douglas McCarty of Augusta, ME; one brother, Lucien “Sonny” Lavallee of Medford, OR; three grandchildren: Tanya McCarty-Barrett and her husband Josh, Gary A. McCarty II and Jennifer Leclerc Dissell and her husband Matt; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Peter Barrett II, Leah Evelyn Barrett, Cooper Alden Dissell and Piper Rose Dissell; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are 6-8 PM Sunday Dec. 10th at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Monday Dec. 11th at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Augusta. Spring burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta.
