Ralph L. “The Bread Man” Rollins, age 70, died Thursday, November 16, 2017 at his home following a long illness. He was born on March 3, 1947 a son of the late William H. and Lena M. (Roccatano) Rollins.
Mr. Rollins was a graduate of Cony High School and Eastern Maine Vocational School and was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was also a member of Bethlehem Lodge No. 35 A.F. & A.M. Water St. Augusta, raised in 1993.
Following high school, Ralph enlisted in the US Navy serving during the Viet Nam War.
He had been a Route Salesman for Country Kitchen for over 30 years.
Mr. Rollins was pre-deceased by a sister, Gloria J. Rollins.
He is survived by his fiancée, Bethany A. Sirabella of Augusta; two brothers: Joseph Rollins of Venice. FL and William Rollins of Chelsea; a sister, DeeDee Rollins of Sidney as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Following cremation, relatives and friends may visit on Wednesday, November 29th from 9-11 AM at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where a memorial service will follow at 11 AM. Inurnment and committal prayers with military honors will follow in the old Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic center Dr., Augusta.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at MaineGeneral and the Harold Alfond Cancer Center for the care and compassion they showed to Ralph and the family during his illness. As well as all of the caregivers that provided the care he needed to allow him to remain in his home.
