Obituary for Maurice Clarendon Hyde Sr.
Maurice C. Hyde, Sr., age 86, died unexpectedly Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home. He was born in Cornish, ME on November 25, 1930 a son of the late Clarendon E. and Nannette (St. Louis) Hyde.
Mr. Hyde attended Augusta schools.
He had been employed by Hudson Pulp and Paper for over 32 years. He more recently had been employed by the Augusta Public Works for over 13 years.
Mr. Hyde was a former member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 964 and the Augusta Trailblazers Club.
Maurice was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He was known to drive his red riding mower daily from his home to the Great Wall Buffet for lunch and to Irving for gas.
He was pre-deceased by several siblings and, the love of his life and long time companion, Alice Murphy.
Mr. Hyde is survived by his son, Maurice C. “Butch” Hyde, Jr. of Lewiston as well as several grandchildren great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
At his request, there will be no public visiting hours or funeral service.
