Obituary for Charles Douglas "Charlie" Buckingham
Charles D. Buckingham - age 57, of 5 Shovelhead Lane, died unexpectedly on October 6, 2017 at Alfond Center for Health, Augusta. He was born in Holyoke, Mass. on Dec. 26, 1959 the son of Charles A. Buckingham and Jeannette (Cox) Buckingham.
Charlie graduated from Cony High School in the class of 1978. He then proceeded right into the heating industry where he worked for 30+ years. His employers included Stone & Cooper Fuel Co. Webber Oil Co. and R J Energy.
Charlie was a hard worker and could do his job with his eyes closed.
Some of Charlie’s favorite pastimes included riding his motorcycle and old country music.
Charlie loved his close family and friends, enjoyed listening to the police scanner, relaxing with his cats, Taz and Sammy, and loved the company of his friends, Bob, Roger, Dave and Ralph. Charlie had a huge love of sports that he shared with his son, and loved fixing things.
Charlie had such a big heart and would do anything to help anyone whenever he could. He will be deeply missed and loved forever.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Surviving is his son, Charles Leo Buckingham and his wife Jamie; daughter, Jennifer Brochu; sisters: Terri A. Buckingham and Debra L. Phillips and her husband Craig; five grandchildren: Haley, Aiden, Adrianna, Jaila and Jensen; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no planned visiting hours. A graveside service will be held 2 PM Friday Oct. 13, 2017 at Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Road, Augusta. Memorial contributions to Kennebec Valley Humane Society, 10 Pet Haven Lane, Augusta, ME 04330 are preferred.
