Obituary for Robert Rouillard
Robert W. Rouillard, age 83, died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the VA Hospital at Togus following a long illness. He was born in Augusta, ME on April 22, 1933 a son of the late William and Gloria (Pepin) Rouillard.
Mr. Rouillard attended Augusta schools and was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He had been employed by Hudson Pulp and Paper, later named Statler Tissue for over 25 years.
Mr. Rouillard was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a member of the Calumet Club and the Cushnoc Senior Citizens.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers: Richard and Roger Rouillard; a sister, Yvette Thompson and a grandson, Richard Fournier, Jr.
Mr. Rouillard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Madeleine C. (Gregoire) Rouillard of Augusta; two step-sons: Richard Fournier and his wife Leanne of Windsor, ME and Percy Fournier of Augusta, ME; two brothers: Ronald Rouillard of Augusta, ME and Raymond Rouillard of Ft. Meyers, FL; two sisters: Beatrice Hill of Manchester, ME and Jeannette Rolson of Farmer City, IL; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may visit on Sunday, April 2nd from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta where officers and members of the Calumet Club are asked to meet at 6 PM to recite prayers for their departed member. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 3rd at 11 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial and committal prayers with military honors will follow in the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta, ME.
